Purpose for the Job
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of IT services and performance of the organization's systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain enterprise servers, networks, and storage solutions.
- Implement and enforce system policies and best practices.
- Perform system updates, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot IT-related issues.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance IT infrastructure and system efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage user accounts, access controls, and system permissions.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for IT-related procurements and support.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to the role.
Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications and Experience
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in system administration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux server operating systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms, virtualization, and network administration.
- Strong knowledge of systems security best practices.
- Professional certifications – Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent.
- Meets provision of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

- Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (CID)
- Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
- Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
- Clearance form from the Ethics & Anti-Corruption Authority (EACC)
- Clearance certificate from a recognized Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
