Systems Integration Coordinator

Role Overview

This role connects supply chain teams with the technology backbone of the Dawa za Ubora Project, translating operational needs into dependable digital systems. Day to day, it involves assessing how information moves across the supply chain, designing and building applications that improve data capture, organisation, and reporting, and keeping those systems secure and responsive as requirements change. The position matters because the project depends on accurate, timely data and interoperable tools to manage complex logistics work.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet with supply chain and programme stakeholders to assess technical needs, map current gaps, and recommend practical digital solutions.
• Design system architecture, data structures, and algorithms that balance performance, cost, scalability, and risk for supply chain information systems.
• Write clean, efficient code in languages such as Java, Ruby on Rails, or C++, and document technical decisions so systems remain maintainable.
• Deploy applications across development, testing, and production environments while following release and configuration best practices.
• Monitor live applications, troubleshoot faults, apply upgrades, and resolve issues before they disrupt supply chain data collection or reporting.
• Manage the full software development life cycle, including planning, requirements, coding, testing, release, and post-launch review.
• Integrate separate software components into working systems, then create verification plans and quality assurance procedures to confirm compatibility and performance.
• Support data management, database performance, and system integration efforts so information flows accurately between tools and teams.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information and communication technology, or a closely related discipline.
• At least five years of relevant professional experience, including two years in a dedicated software development role.
• Strong programming ability in Java, Ruby on Rails, C++, or comparable languages used for enterprise application development.
• Hands-on competence in database management, data management, system integration, and technical support or troubleshooting.
• Experience with the software development life cycle, including planning, coding, testing, deployment, and application maintenance.
• Familiarity with common engineering practices such as version control, API integration, automated testing, and deployment workflows.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Analytical, problem-solving mindset with a team-oriented approach, integrity, and close attention to detail.
