Job Description

Role Overview

As a Storekeeper Assistant at Pinnacle Systems in Nairobi, you will keep the warehouse running smoothly by managing stock from the moment it arrives until it leaves for internal teams or branch locations. Working closely with and reporting to the Storekeeper, you will verify deliveries, organize storage, maintain accurate ERP records, and coordinate timely dispatches. Your precision directly protects the company from stock losses, delays, and material waste across its automotive and aviation supply operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming deliveries against purchase orders, checking quantities and quality while flagging any damaged or short-shipped items.
  • Store goods in clearly labelled bin locations, ensuring easy identification, safe handling, and efficient retrieval.
  • Prepare, pack, and document customer and internal branch dispatches, confirming that all items match delivery notes before release.
  • Coordinate the return of defective, expired, or incorrectly supplied inventory to vendors and follow up on replacements or credits.
  • Apply First In, First Out (FIFO) rotation rules across all stock categories to reduce obsolescence and prevent expiration-related losses.
  • Perform regular physical stock counts and cycle counts, reconciling actual warehouse balances against the ERP system to identify and resolve variances.
  • Update the inventory management system with receiving reports, stock transfer vouchers, and dispatch records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Respond to internal inventory queries, trace item movements, and investigate any missing or mismatched stock to keep operational data reliable.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Stores Management from a recognized institution.
  • Active registration with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) and in good standing.
  • At least one year of hands-on experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or stores keeping.
  • Practical working knowledge of ERP systems and inventory tracking software, with the ability to update records accurately.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain practices, safety protocols, and statutory procurement guidelines in Kenya.
  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of accuracy when handling stock figures, delivery notes, and item movements.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with suppliers, drivers, and internal branch teams.
  • Physical capability to handle packing, lifting, and warehouse organization throughout the workday.
