Role Overview
This position is responsible for building and strengthening space education and public awareness across academic, professional, and community settings. Day-to-day work involves coordinating training initiatives, advising on curriculum integration, and running outreach programs that connect space science and technology with broader audiences. These efforts are central to developing a skilled space workforce and ensuring that citizens, educators, and policymakers understand the importance of space innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and update policies, regulations, and operational guidelines related to space education, workforce development, and public engagement.
- Work with universities, schools, government bodies, and industry partners to incorporate space science and technology into formal curricula and lifelong learning pathways.
- Conduct structured needs assessments to identify gaps in space education and capacity-building, then translate findings into technical recommendations for planning and decision-making.
- Coordinate research initiatives in space pedagogy and outreach, helping teams collaborate, share results, and apply evidence-based practices.
- Plan and execute awareness campaigns, exhibitions, public talks, and digital media activities that elevate the visibility of space applications and GEO-STEAM disciplines.
- Organize professional development courses, student workshops, and other training events, ensuring efficient use of budgets, facilities, and instructor time.
- Support the launch and operation of space museums, science centers, and public information points, managing logistics and stakeholder coordination.
- Maintain knowledge repositories and online collaboration spaces for space education resources, while monitoring program risks and proposing mitigation measures.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in physics, astronomy, astrophysics, aeronautical or aerospace engineering, remote sensing, geographic information science, geospatial engineering, surveying, civil engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, telecommunications engineering, software engineering, information technology, computer science, control and instrumentation, or an equivalent field from a recognized institution.
- Demonstrated proficiency in standard computer applications and digital collaboration tools.
- Evidence of strong professional performance and merit, shown through consistent work results, successful project delivery, or positive performance assessments.
