Role Overview
This position centres on shaping and advancing the country's space research and innovation agenda. You will work at the intersection of policy development, stakeholder coordination, and project administration, ensuring that space-related initiatives move forward efficiently. Your day-to-day efforts will directly support the establishment of research hubs, protect intellectual assets, and strengthen the wider space ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the coordination and drafting of policies, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks relating to space research and innovation, aligning them with institutional strategic objectives.
- Act as a primary liaison between government bodies, research institutions, industry partners, and other stakeholders to foster collaborative space initiatives.
- Develop reports, technical briefs, and promotional materials that highlight progress in space science, emerging technologies, and related disciplines.
- Build and maintain a centralised repository of research outputs, innovations, and space objects, with a strong focus on data accuracy, currency, and completeness.
- Support the preparation of funding proposals, resource identification, and logistical planning required to establish and run centres of excellence.
- Monitor the implementation of research and innovation projects, track funding usage and milestones, and prepare clear status reports for decision-makers.
- Manage the documentation and protection of intellectual property related to space innovations, and maintain a verifiable registry of experts and professionals within the space sector.
- Organise workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing platforms, while identifying project risks and contributing to mitigation strategies that uphold compliance and regulatory standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in physics, astronomy, astrophysics, aeronautical or aerospace engineering, remote sensing, geographic information science, geo-spatial engineering, surveying, civil engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, telecommunications engineering, software engineering, information technology, computer science, control and instrumentation, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, including data management, reporting tools, and standard office software.
- Evidence of strong work performance, reliability, and the ability to deliver results in a research or innovation-focused environment.
