Role Overview
As a Social Media Management Intern in the Digital, Content and IT Department, you will help shape how the organization shows up across Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and similar channels. Day to day, you will draft and schedule posts, track how audiences respond, and suggest adjustments that keep messaging consistent and relevant. This role matters because it turns social platforms into a dependable channel for communication, engagement, and learning rather than an afterthought.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and schedule posts for multiple social platforms, adapting tone, format, and timing to fit each channel’s audience.
- Monitor comments, messages, and mentions, and route or respond to community questions in line with team guidelines.
- Track basic performance metrics such as reach, engagement, follower growth, and click activity, then summarize what the numbers show.
- Research platform trends, hashtags, and competitor activity to recommend fresh content ideas.
- Collaborate with the Digital, Content and IT Department to align social copy with broader campaigns and brand messaging.
- Help maintain a content calendar so posts go out consistently and deadlines are visible to stakeholders.
- Assist with lightweight reporting decks or spreadsheets that explain social results to the team.
- Support rapid adjustments when a post performs well or poorly, including testing captions, visuals, or posting times.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or similar degree program.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience running social media accounts for a brand, organization, or comparable project, including creating and scheduling content.
- Working knowledge of major platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, including their formats, audience norms, and analytics tools.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adjust messages for different audiences and platforms.
- Comfort reading social metrics and turning them into practical next steps rather than just reporting numbers.
- Ability to juggle several projects at once, stay organized, and work effectively with a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Self-driven and creative approach to spotting content opportunities and solving routine social media problems.
