Silk Screen Operator / Press Operator
Job Responsibilities
The Silk Screen Operator / Press Operator is responsible for operating silk screen and press equipment to produce printed materials in accordance with Navy quality standards and production requirements. Key duties include:
- Setting up screens, preparing inks, aligning materials, and operating manual or automated presses to produce accurate, high-quality prints.
- Monitoring press operations, adjusting settings as needed, and inspecting finished products to ensure color accuracy, registration, and overall print quality.
- Following established production schedules, maintaining consistent output, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures.
- Cleaning and maintaining screens and press equipment, managing ink and supply inventory, documenting production output, and maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.
- Supporting mission-driven printing and production needs in a remote environment.
Minimum Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in silk screen printing, press operations, or related production environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of screen preparation, ink handling, and press operation
- Ability to follow production specifications and quality standards
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods and handling materials
- Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally; passport must be valid for at least one year beyond hire date
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce
- Experience producing signage, apparel, forms, or printed materials
- Familiarity with print production workflows and quality control processes
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Valid country driver’s license
- Ability to obtain country-specific visa(s) in accordance with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide
