SEO Specialist

SalaryGuide is seeking an experienced SEO Specialist to join its team and support advanced search optimization initiatives. This role is ideal for a technical SEO professional with strong experience in enterprise websites, content optimization, search technologies, and improving online visibility.

The successful candidate will manage technical SEO audits, optimize content for traditional and AI-powered search platforms, improve website performance, and collaborate with content, UX, development, and marketing teams to enhance search visibility and user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct monthly technical SEO audits to identify issues including broken links, indexation errors, page speed problems, and content delivery challenges.

• Optimize website content for AI search platforms including Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, ChatGPT Search, and Copilot.

• Develop and support SEO/GEO strategies aligned with paid search, digital campaigns, and owned content channels.

• Monitor website search functionality and support content accuracy and discoverability reviews.

• Improve page speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile responsiveness, and overall website performance.

• Maintain and optimize XML sitemaps, robots.txt files, and crawlability settings.

• Implement schema markup (JSON-LD), structured metadata, and microdata to improve search visibility.

• Enhance internal linking strategies and website information architecture.

• Support voice search optimization through structured content improvements.

• Analyze search behavior, indexing patterns, and crawl data to improve organic visibility.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical SEO for enterprise websites or similar environments.

• Active Secret clearance or higher is required for federal government contract support.

• Experience using SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, or equivalent platforms.

• Experience improving website structure, page speed, schema markup, and search performance.

• Knowledge of AI search behavior and optimization for LLM-based search platforms.

• Experience creating structured content, FAQs, and content optimized for conversational search.

• Understanding of search engine marketing (SEM) and paid media concepts.

• Ability to collaborate with content, UX, and development teams on SEO projects.

Strong knowledge of:

• Technical SEO audits and enterprise website optimization

• AI search optimization, GEO, and LLM-based content retrieval

• Schema markup, structured data, crawlability, and website performance

Preferred Skills:

• Experience supporting federal, DoD, or large enterprise content platforms.

• Knowledge of API-driven search services, metadata governance, and taxonomy standards.

• Familiarity with headless CMS or component-based website architectures.
