Role Overview
This full-time leadership position places you at the heart of a busy resort in Murang’a, where you will oversee daily operations across housekeeping, F&B, events, and guest services. Your primary focus is to keep every department running smoothly, resolve issues as they arise, and ensure guests leave with a positive impression. You will also play a key role in coaching staff, supporting event execution, and helping the resort grow its occupancy and revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate day-to-day activities across all resort departments, ensuring service standards are met consistently.
- Enforce operational policies, safety protocols, and quality benchmarks; step in to correct any lapses immediately.
- Oversee the resort’s cleanliness, upkeep, and visual presentation, including routine inspections of public areas and guest facilities.
- Act as the main point of contact for guest concerns, responding to complaints and feedback with professionalism and speed.
- Plan and manage conferences, weddings, and corporate events from initial client briefing through to on-site execution, coordinating with kitchen, housekeeping, and service teams.
- Lead, train, and schedule departmental staff, monitor their performance, and build a collaborative, accountable team culture.
- Support revenue growth by maintaining strong relationships with travel agents, corporate clients, and suppliers, and by identifying upselling opportunities.
- Track inventory for food, beverages, supplies, and equipment, conduct stock counts, and submit accurate reports to management.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Tourism, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a resort, hotel, or similar hospitality environment.
- Proven ability to coordinate events and manage multiple operational departments simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in staff scheduling, coaching, and performance reviews.
- Excellent customer service skills and a track record of handling guest relations effectively.
- Solid business development and partnership management abilities, especially with corporate and travel trade clients.
- Good inventory and resource management skills, including stock-taking and procurement coordination.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with guests, staff, and suppliers.
