Role Overview
This senior marketing position turns organisational growth goals into practical campaigns, market intelligence, and brand activity. Day to day, the role holder reviews performance data, shapes messaging with creative and digital teams, coordinates suppliers and internal stakeholders, and adjusts plans to improve reach, conversion, and return on investment. The post matters because disciplined marketing execution directly affects customer acquisition, competitive positioning, and the organisation’s ability to meet its strategic targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop annual and quarterly marketing plans, including budgets, channel mix, timelines, and measurable targets.
- Commission and interpret market research, customer surveys, and competitor analysis to identify opportunities, risks, and emerging trends.
- Lead integrated campaigns across digital, print, broadcast, outdoor, and experiential channels, ensuring consistent brand positioning.
- Manage relationships with advertising agencies, media houses, designers, printers, and other external partners, from briefing through delivery and performance review.
- Coordinate product or service launches, promotional events, and public-facing activities with sales, communications, and operations teams.
- Track campaign key performance indicators such as reach, engagement, lead quality, conversion rates, and return on investment, and prepare reports for management.
- Supervise and mentor junior marketing staff, allocate work, review outputs, and support their professional development.
- Monitor marketing expenditure against approved budgets and ensure all activities comply with relevant regulations, brand guidelines, and professional standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Commerce with an accounting or finance option, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Business Management, Actuarial Science, or an equivalent field.
- Completion of a management development course lasting at least four weeks at a recognised institution.
- Active registration with a recognised professional association, with no standing issues.
- At least six years of cumulative relevant work experience, including a minimum of three years at Marketing Officer I grade or in a comparable position.
- Proven ability to plan and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns, manage budgets, and report on performance.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with market research, data interpretation, and marketing metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience, with the ability to guide junior colleagues and coordinate cross-functional work.
- Working knowledge of digital marketing platforms, analytics tools, customer relationship management systems, and standard office software.
