Day to day, you will keep a close eye on cash positions, build and maintain liquidity forecasts, shape management reports, and ensure the finance systems that underpin these activities run reliably. By automating routine reporting and sharpening analytical tools, you will give leadership the timely, actionable information needed to safeguard the organisation’s long-term financial health.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily treasury activities, including monitoring cash balances, projecting funding needs, coordinating banking relationships, and supporting investment administration.
- Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts and liquidity scenarios, flagging potential shortfalls or risks and recommending practical mitigation steps.
- Coordinate the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, along with executive dashboards and trend analyses for senior leadership and board committees.
- Administer finance systems and reporting tools, supporting ERP configuration, system upgrades, and integration with other organisational platforms while safeguarding data integrity.
- Lead the automation of recurring financial reports and build dashboards that give decision-makers clearer visibility into performance and emerging risks.
- Develop and maintain finance standard operating procedures, reviewing workflows and strengthening documentation to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Drive the annual budgeting cycle, consolidating operational budgets, preparing variance analyses, and supporting reforecasts and scenario modelling.
- Act as a go-to resource for departments and system users, offering guidance on financial reporting, analytics, and system-related matters.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
- A recognised professional accounting qualification such as CPA(K) or ACCA, with active membership in a professional accounting body.
- A minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience, including hands-on work in treasury management, financial planning, and management reporting.
- Proven ability to support and enhance ERP systems and financial reporting tools, with experience in dashboarding, business intelligence, or reporting automation considered a strong plus.
- Expert-level Excel and financial modelling skills, along with familiarity with reporting and visualisation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the judgment to interpret complex financial data and translate it into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and explaining technical issues in plain language.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines without losing accuracy.
- Experience in donor-funded or international development settings is an added advantage, as is a demonstrated capacity for systems thinking, collaborative teamwork, and results-oriented leadership.
