Senior Estimation Engineer

Role Overview

As a Senior Estimation Engineer at Hills & Fort Construction, you will lead the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for infrastructure and civil engineering projects across Dubai. Day to day, you will analyse project blueprints, bills of quantities, and technical specifications to produce detailed tender submissions, directly influencing the firm’s ability to win new contracts while safeguarding profit margins. Your expertise ensures that every bid is built on thorough quantity take-offs, rate analyses, and real-time coordination with suppliers and subcontractors – making your role essential to the company’s growth in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive cost estimates and compile complete tender submission packages for civil and infrastructure projects.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, bills of quantities (BOQs), and technical specifications to extract all measurable scope items.
• Carry out precise quantity take-offs and perform rate analysis to build reliable project cost models.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and validate pricing assumptions during the bid phase.
• Collaborate with internal project teams (planning, procurement, engineering) to align estimates with project delivery methods and site conditions.
• Support bid preparation by drafting clarifications, alternate proposals, and cost optimisation recommendations to improve win rates.
• Maintain and update a cost database of materials, labour rates, and subcontractor pricing for future reference.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil or related discipline).
• Proven hands-on experience in estimation and tendering specifically for infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
• Strong command of construction methods, materials, and project costing principles.
• Proficiency in estimation software, particularly Candy CCS (preferred), along with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite.
• Solid knowledge of quantity take-off techniques, cost analysis, and tender submission procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
