Description:
Ovington Contracting L.L.C., part of the Fakhruddin Group, is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Accounts & Finance Department in Dubai. This opportunity is ideal for finance professionals with a strong accounting background, preferably within the contracting or construction industry.
The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, managing payables and receivables, supporting VAT compliance, and preparing management reports. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial success of a leading contracting company.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure timely recording of financial transactions.
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP), subcontractor invoices, and payment tracking.
• Monitor Accounts Receivable (AR), collections, and ageing reports.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with month-end closing activities.
• Maintain UAE VAT records and support VAT return filing.
• Monitor project costs and assist with budget tracking.
• Prepare MIS and management reports while coordinating with external auditors.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5–8 years of accounting experience.
• Experience in the contracting or construction industry is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple accounting responsibilities with accuracy.
• Strong knowledge of:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable (AP/AR)
• UAE VAT compliance and bank reconciliation
• Project cost accounting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• ERP systems
