Security Foreman

Role Overview

On a daily basis, this role oversees and directs a team of security guards, ensuring all posts are covered, protocols are followed, and the response to incidents is swift and correct. You will split your time between patrolling the site footprint, monitoring CCTV feeds, and handling any disturbances or emergencies that arise, while keeping detailed logs of every event. The position is critical to maintaining a safe, orderly environment at the facility and directly supports the Security Supervisor by providing on-the-ground intelligence and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise guard personnel during shifts, making sure they stay alert, professional, and compliant with all standard operating procedures.
• Carry out regular foot patrols and unannounced spot-checks across buildings, perimeters, and surrounding grounds to identify hazards or lapses.
• Maintain thorough written records of incidents, accidents, suspicious activity, and daily operations, then submit reports to management.
• Operate and monitor CCTV cameras, alarm panels, and other security technology, flagging any malfunctions or video evidence for follow-up.
• Lead or assist in emergency response situations such as medical incidents, evacuations, fires, or security breaches, coordinating guard actions until resolved.
• Handle complaints, de-escalate conflicts, and, when necessary, escort unauthorised individuals off the premises in accordance with company policy.
• Work alongside the Security Supervisor to conduct basic investigations, interview witnesses, and compile factual accounts of incidents while respecting legal boundaries.
• Support the training and onboarding of new security staff, coaching team members on procedures, equipment use, and professional conduct.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Several years in a senior guard, foreman, or team lead role within a security setting.
• Technical knowledge: Proficient with CCTV, alarm systems, and electronic reporting tools; comfortable learning new security software.
• Leadership & communication: Strong ability to command respect, give clear direction, and maintain calm under pressure during tense incidents.
• Physical readiness: Must be fit enough to conduct extended walking patrols, climb stairs, and work outdoor shifts, including a 25 % night‑shift rotation.
• Report writing & investigation: Capable of producing clear, factual incident reports and conducting preliminary interviews that hold up to review.
• Computer literacy: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and digital log systems.
• Language: Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Preferred additional qualifications: Military, police, or formal security certification (e.g., PSIRA); prior experience in a similar industrial or facility setting; deep familiarity with local safety laws and regulations.
