Role Overview
As a Sustainable Solutions Sales Executive, you will be the face of the shop floor, turning walk-in interest and inbound enquiries into confirmed sales of renewable-energy and sustainable building products. You will spend your day advising customers on everything from LGS building systems and solar installations to heat pumps, inverters, batteries, electric mobility, rainwater harvesting and bioplants, matching each buyer with a solution that genuinely fits their needs. Your ability to combine persuasive selling with credible technical explanation directly drives the store's revenue, its reputation for expertise, and the repeat business and referrals that follow.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of the shop's sustainable product range by generating leads, preparing accurate quotations, chasing enquiries through to close, and consistently hitting individual sales targets.
- Welcome customers professionally, uncover their requirements through consultative questioning, and recommend appropriate renewable-energy and building solutions rather than simply processing transactions.
- Conduct in-store product demonstrations and explain features, benefits, real-world applications and technical specifications in language each customer can understand.
- Offer sound basic technical guidance across solar systems, electric mobility, rainwater harvesting and bioplant offerings, escalating complex questions where specialist input is required.
- Follow up systematically on open leads and quotations, convert opportunities into sales, and nurture customer relationships that produce repeat purchases and referrals.
- Keep the shop running smoothly day to day — maintaining attractive product displays, cleanliness, order and security, and following all operating and compliance procedures.
- Maintain precise records of customer enquiries, quotations, sales, follow-ups and stock movements, and assist with stock monitoring and reconciliation.
- Track market trends, competitor activity and shifting customer preferences, staying current on new technologies and feeding insights back to management, while attending sales and product training and supporting promotional events and exhibitions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Construction, Renewable Energy or a comparable discipline.
- At least two years of hands-on sales experience, ideally in a technical, building or energy-related product environment.
- A strong positive attitude and self-driven, proactive approach, with the confidence to work independently and take initiative without close supervision.
- Excellent sales, communication, customer service and relationship-building abilities, backed by a demonstrable record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Solid technical aptitude and a genuine willingness to learn the details of LGS building systems, solar products and other sustainable technologies, and to explain them confidently to customers.
- Energetic, ambitious, professional and results-oriented, with the flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as the shop's trading pattern requires.
