Job Description

Role Overview

This role is responsible for shaping and executing the commercial direction of the business, combining hands-on sales leadership with operational logistics oversight. Day to day, you will drive revenue targets, manage distribution networks, and ensure customer orders are fulfilled efficiently while aligning cross-functional teams toward growth. This position matters because it directly ties market penetration and profitability to seamless supply chain execution, making it critical for the company’s bottom line and competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integrated sales and marketing plans to achieve revenue and margin targets.
  • Identify and develop new markets, distribution channels, and customer segments to expand the company’s footprint.
  • Build and nurture long-term strategic relationships with key customers, distributors, and retail partners.
  • Lead and manage the sales and logistics teams, setting performance objectives and ensuring accountability.
  • Oversee inventory planning, order fulfilment, and product movement across the supply chain to maintain service levels.
  • Optimise transportation and warehousing operations to reduce costs while improving delivery reliability.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform pricing, promotions, and product mix decisions.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, departmental budgets, and performance reports, then collaborate with production and finance to align resources.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a closely related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum of five years of management experience, including direct P&L or budget responsibility.
  • Proven track record in the Fast‑Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
  • Demonstrated sales leadership experience with a focus on team development and revenue growth.
  • Solid understanding of logistics and distribution management principles.
  • Strong business development and negotiation skills, with an ability to close complex deals.
  • Hands-on experience using an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical capabilities.
  • Valid driving licence (travel to customer sites and distribution points required).
