Role Overview
This position focuses on growing a construction and renovation firm's portfolio of active building, fit-out, and refurbishment contracts. You will be based at Ngong Road in Nairobi, working in the field and office to uncover tender opportunities, prepare competitive bids, and negotiate with institutional, corporate, and private property developers. Your efforts directly fuel the company's project pipeline and revenue, making this a pivotal commercial role for the business, with a monthly salary of KSh 25,000 – KSh 30,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and track commercial, residential, and institutional construction and renovation tenders in Nairobi and surrounding areas.
- Generate leads through site visits, cold outreach, referral networking, and online research to sustain a robust sales pipeline.
- Build strategic relationships with property managers, real estate agents, architects, and corporate procurement leads.
- Draft construction proposals, cost estimates, and formal quotations that align with project specifications, working with internal technical and site teams to confirm scope and costs.
- Monitor submitted bids, manage tender documentation, and follow up with decision-makers to secure contracts.
- Present tailored solutions to prospective clients, covering structural options, timelines, and pricing advantages; negotiate contract terms, pricing, and payment schedules within company guidelines.
- Manage client relationships from first consultation through contract signing and project handover.
- Monitor real estate trends, competitor pricing, and new property developments; maintain complete records of leads, client interactions, pending tenders, LPOs, and closed contracts.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of proven success in B2B sales, marketing, or business development.
- Direct sales experience in construction, interior fit-outs, building materials, real estate, or property development is highly preferred.
- Practical experience handling formal tenders, LPOs, corporate quotations, and project proposals.
- Strong verbal communication and persuasive presentation skills tailored to corporate decision-makers.
- Understanding of the local construction ecosystem, building costs, and property trends along Ngong Road and greater Nairobi.
- Highly energetic, target-oriented, and capable of working independently in the field.
