Role Overview
This position focuses on driving revenue for glass, aluminium, and hardware product lines through face-to-face selling and proactive field marketing. You will spend most of your time visiting construction sites, architects' offices, and hardware retailers to present product solutions, negotiate orders, and ensure clients remain satisfied after the sale. Your efforts directly support the company’s market expansion goals and help position its products as the preferred choice among builders and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and qualify new leads within the construction and building materials sector, converting them into paying customers through scheduled site visits and product demonstrations.
- Present and promote the full range of glass, aluminium, and hardware products to contractors, architects, fabricators, and retail outlets, tailoring each pitch to the client’s specific project needs.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and contract terms to close deals while protecting profit margins and maintaining long-term account value.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, handling order follow-ups, technical queries, and post-delivery support to reduce churn and encourage repeat business.
- Maintain an up-to-date customer relationship management (CRM) database, logging every interaction, opportunity, and follow-up task to ensure no lead goes cold.
- Conduct regular market sweeps to monitor competitor pricing, new product launches, and shifting customer preferences, then share structured feedback with management.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports that clearly outline achieved revenue, pipeline status, and forecasted numbers for the coming period.
- Coordinate with internal supply chain and marketing teams to ensure stock availability for key promotions, align delivery commitments, and support any special campaign launched in your territory.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 to 4 years of proven sales experience, ideally in building materials, construction hardware, or a closely related industry.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct effective field sales visits independently, including planning daily routes, managing time, and closing deals outside a traditional office environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to present to both technical buyers (e.g., architects, site engineers) and commercial decision-makers (e.g., procurement managers, store owners).
- Persuasive negotiation skills and a results-driven mindset, comfortable working against monthly or quarterly sales targets.
- Practical proficiency with MS Office tools and CRM software to track leads, update records, and generate accurate sales reports.
- Adaptability to handle changing client requirements, price objections, and on-site challenges without losing momentum.
- A valid driving license is a strong plus, given the field-intensive nature of the role.
