Role Overview
This internship gives recent Kenyan graduates a structured chance to work within KDIC and put their academic learning into practice in a professional setting. Interns are assigned to departments that match their qualification and area of specialisation, where they support everyday tasks while building confidence and workplace competence. The program is intended for graduates who have not yet held any job related to their studies, providing a meaningful first step into the Kenyan labour market.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out assigned administrative, research, or technical duties within the specific department where the intern is placed.
- Assist in collecting, organising, and verifying data or documents needed for reports, projects, or routine operations.
- Draft correspondence, memos, presentation materials, or meeting notes under the direction of a supervisor.
- Attend meetings, briefings, and training sessions relevant to the work of the department and the intern's learning goals.
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems while respecting the confidentiality of official information.
- Support experienced staff in completing tasks within set deadlines and quality standards.
- Perform any other official duties assigned by the supervisor that contribute to the objectives of the corporation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Be a Kenyan citizen and hold a valid National Identification Card.
- Have completed a degree or diploma program at a recognised training institution within the last three years.
- Provide proof of graduation through a degree or diploma certificate, or academic transcripts.
- Be currently unemployed and have no work experience related to the area of study.
- Must not have retired or formally exited from employment.
- Must not have previously benefitted from a similar internship program.
- Submit a current curriculum vitae when invited for vetting or interviews.
- Be prepared to obtain a valid Certificate of Good Conduct, KRA PIN, NSSF registration, SHIF or reputable medical insurance cover, and personal accident insurance for the internship period if selected.
