Role Overview
This role centres on proactively driving revenue for a hotel operation by cultivating lasting client partnerships and uncovering fresh business leads. Day-to-day, you will balance direct sales outreach with meticulous account management, ensuring every guest and corporate client receives tailored solutions for accommodation, meetings, and events. Your work directly influences the property's financial targets and market reputation, making you a key link between client expectations and operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and convert new corporate, leisure, and MICE accounts through targeted outreach, networking, and referrals.
- Manage a portfolio of existing clients by regularly reviewing their needs and securing repeat business.
- Present and sell the hotel's full range of services—guest rooms, conference suites, function spaces, and catering packages—via tailored proposals.
- Conduct on-site inspections, client meetings, and familiarisation tours to showcase facilities and build trust.
- Prepare accurate quotations, contracts, and event agreements, negotiating terms that benefit both the client and the hotel.
- Coordinate closely with front office, events, and culinary teams to ensure seamless execution of bookings and address any service gaps.
- Track sales performance against monthly and annual revenue goals, adjusting tactics to stay on target.
- Maintain up-to-date records in the CRM system, including all correspondence, contract details, and forecast data.
- Represent the brand at industry events, trade shows, and local business gatherings to strengthen market presence.
- Submit regular sales reports, pipeline analyses, and activity summaries to management.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Sales & Marketing, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum three years of hands-on sales experience within the hospitality sector (hotel, resort, or conference centre).
- Proven track record in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) sales is strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and deliver confident presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and close deals while maintaining long-term client relationships.
- Self-starter who thrives under pressure, works independently, and consistently pursues ambitious revenue targets.
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail in documentation and follow-up.
- Familiarity with sales CRMs and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
