Role Overview
You will take charge of driving revenue growth for a hospitality establishment by leading targeted sales initiatives and executing marketing campaigns that resonate with both leisure and corporate clients. Day to day, you will supervise a small sales team, coordinate with the operations and events departments to ensure seamless client experiences, and translate market insights into practical action plans that keep the property competitive.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement annual sales and marketing plans to meet room night, banquet, and event revenue targets.
- Proactively prospect and secure new corporate accounts, travel agents, and event organisers while nurturing relationships with existing clients.
- Supervise and mentor the sales coordinators and junior sales staff, setting daily priorities and monitoring performance against conversion goals.
- Prepare tailored proposals, contracts, and presentations for prospective clients, ensuring that solutions are practical, persuasive, and aligned with the property’s service standards.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and booking data to adjust pricing strategies and promotional offers.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to plan on-site familiarisation trips, industry events, and periodic social media or print campaigns.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, client interactions, and pipeline status, producing weekly and monthly sales reports for senior management.
- Support the front-of-house and events divisions by communicating clear client requirements and ensuring smooth handover from contract to delivery.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years’ practical experience in a sales and marketing role, preferably within a hotel, resort, or upscale restaurant environment.
- Demonstrated ability to propose convincing, workable solutions to clients’ needs rather than simply quoting standard packages.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in delivering presentations and negotiating contracts.
- Analytical mindset capable of interpreting sales reports, market research, and booking patterns to inform decisions.
- Supervisory experience including the ability to coach, delegate, and hold team members accountable in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
