Role Overview

This full-time volunteer position works alongside the Secretary General to secure the funding and in-kind support that keeps the organization running. You will spend your days drafting proposals, tracking donor commitments, and building relationships with individuals and companies who believe in the mission. Your work directly determines whether projects move forward, making you a vital link between the organization’s goals and the resources needed to achieve them.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft compelling grant applications and design diverse fundraising strategies to cover both project costs and day-to-day operational expenses.
• Build and execute a structured resource mobilization plan, then monitor its progress to ensure targets are met.
• Keep supporters engaged and informed through tailored updates, transparent reporting on outcomes, and clear financial accountability.
• Grow the donor base by launching and managing targeted fundraising campaigns aimed at new audiences.
• Secure non-monetary contributions such as equipment, services, or expertise from private companies, community groups, and individual partners.
• Negotiate and manage funding agreements, ensuring all contractual obligations, renewals, and submission deadlines are met.
• Track grant expenditures and reporting timelines, working with program teams to produce accurate narrative and financial reports for donors.
• Contribute newsletter content focused on fundraising wins, donor impact, and resource mobilization activities, while keeping all fundraising records current.
• Research and benchmark best practices from larger nonprofits to continuously refine and strengthen the organization’s fundraising approach.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Aged between 18 and 30 at the time of application.
• Able to commit to at least six months of full-time volunteer service.
• Genuine interest and enthusiasm for fundraising, partnerships, communications, and nonprofit growth.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and passionate about serving communities, with a clear desire to build a long-term career in the nonprofit sector.
• Degree or diploma in Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Development Studies, International Relations, or a related field is preferred.
• Candidates without formal qualifications may still be considered if they bring strong hands-on experience in fundraising, proposal writing, or resource mobilization.

What We Offer / Why Join

This is an unpaid volunteer placement, so there is no salary or stipend. You will need to cover your own accommodation and daily transport to the office. However, the organization directly covers operational travel expenses such as transport to meetings, field visits, and official activities. While compensation is not provided, the role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, direct exposure to donor relations, and the chance to make a meaningful impact while developing skills that support a future career in the sector.
