Job Description

Job Purpose

The Relationship Officer will be responsible for sourcing new business and renewing existing accounts from individual and corporate agents in the market. This role drives the sales and marketing of key company products and services to achieve set targets. The officer will ensure agents understand the company’s products and strengths, and will participate in recruiting, training, monitoring, and motivating agents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth to meet set targets through retention of existing business and acquisition of new business from current and new accounts.
  • Document and Certificate Management: Maintain, control, and account for company insurance policy documents and certificate allocations.
  • Cash and Carry Policy: Ensure strict adherence to the cash and carry policy as per company guidelines.
  • Intermediary Incentives: Solicit and negotiate special incentives for top-performing intermediaries, within set policy and compliance guidelines.
  • Product Mix Diversification: Achieve diversification by delivering the pre-set revenue product mix.
  • Reporting: Prepare timely, accurate, and informative reports for the Branch Manager to support decision-making.
  • SOP Implementation: Maintain and implement branch-level Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Performance Management: Embrace performance management processes to ensure effective and efficient customer service and support overall branch/company business goals.
  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain good relationships with brokers, agents, and clients, while maintaining close liaison with other departments.
  • Corporate Image: Foster and maintain a good corporate image through liaison with competitors, intermediaries, and the general public.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (Insurance Option, Marketing, Business Administration, Finance) or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Diploma in ACII or AIIK is an added advantage.

Experience

  • 3 years of relevant experience.
