Job Description

Role Overview

This position sits within the Commercial and Corporate Banking segment, where you will act as the driving force behind product revenue growth and profitability. Day to day, you will immerse yourself in each client’s operational reality, anticipate their treasury and cash management needs, and convert those insights into tailored banking solutions that strengthen long-term partnerships. Your role matters because every deal you structure directly contributes to the bank’s commercial targets and competitive edge in serving mid-to-large corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute segment-specific sales plans that align with both the bank’s overall commercial strategy and the individual business objectives of key corporate clients.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new revenue opportunities by thoroughly understanding client operations, industry pressures, and evolving cash flow demands.
  • Present and demonstrate product capabilities through customised pitches, proposals, and scenario-based demonstrations that speak directly to each customer's pain points.
  • Negotiate and refine pricing, terms, and service levels to strike the optimal balance between client satisfaction and the bank’s profitability targets.
  • Spot cross-selling pathways across other banking lines, using a deep knowledge of client needs to introduce complementary products such as trade finance, treasury, or lending solutions.
  • Adopt a disciplined sales management routine, maintaining accurate trackers, forecasting pipelines, and periodic performance reports while adjusting tactics to stay on target.
  • Partner with product management and development teams during rollouts, supplying market feedback and client intelligence that shapes new features, enhancements, and competitive positioning.
  • Serve as a post-sales escalation point, ensuring seamless onboarding, quick resolution of service issues, and consistently high client satisfaction.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, or a related discipline from a recognised university.
  • At least seven years of banking experience, including a minimum of three years in a business development or sales capacity focused on commercial or corporate clients.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with the ability to analyse client balance sheets, cash cycles, and transactional data to build credible, value-added proposals.
  • Strong consultative sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and profitability targets.
  • Working knowledge of commercial banking products, including cash management, payments, liquidity, and trade-related services.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective engagement with both C-suite clients and internal product stakeholders.
  • An understanding of Sharia Foundations and principles of Islamic finance is a distinct advantage.
