Role Overview
This role is responsible for steering the marketing and operational activities across the Western Branches to ensure production targets and portfolio mix goals are met. Day-to-day, the position involves coordinating with branch managers to streamline workflows, enforce underwriting standards, and maintain a strong focus on customer service delivery. Success in this role directly supports the company’s profitability targets and brand consistency throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of the company’s marketing strategic plan by working closely with Unit and Branch Managers as well as the Head of Branches Business Unit.
- Set branch-level production targets and portfolio mix, then monitor adherence on a weekly basis, reporting any deviations and proposing corrective actions to the Head of Branches.
- Help Unit and Branch Managers identify and penetrate profitable market segments within each area by building and maintaining strong relationships with intermediaries.
- Assist in recruiting and retaining qualified, licensed agents while ensuring the agent loyalty programme is implemented effectively.
- Oversee branch operations including upfront premium collection compliance, completeness of proposal forms, and overall customer service standards.
- Train Unit and Branch Managers—and, by extension, branch staff—on quality underwriting practices and product knowledge to improve service delivery.
- Supervise the implementation of service level agreements (SLAs) between branches and the head office, and coordinate branch visit schedules with specific objectives for each visit.
- Conduct market intelligence by gathering customer feedback and building a regional database to support the development of tailored products and county-level partnerships.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 8 years in an insurance company with a background in underwriting and branch management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field. A postgraduate diploma such as AIIK, ACII, or CIM is required.
