Job Summary
Are you passionate about cleanliness and creating welcoming spaces? We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Public Area Attendant to join our dedicated Housekeeping team. In this important role, you will ensure all public areas are spotless, safe, and inviting for our guests — helping deliver the exceptional experience for which JW Marriott Nairobi is renowned.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, meeting rooms, and recreational facilities.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing surfaces.
- Restock supplies in restrooms and public spaces (soap, paper towels, tissues, etc.) as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist with deep cleaning projects and special event setups as directed.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Respond to guest requests or concerns with professionalism and a positive attitude.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar cleaning role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical stamina — comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and a customer-service mindset.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
