Role Overview
You will act as the technical bridge between the sales team and the client, turning broad security requirements into well-structured, commercially viable proposals. Day to day, this means dissecting tender documents, building accurate cost estimates, designing electronic security architectures, and supporting sales conversations with demonstrations and technical guidance. Your work directly determines how many bids the company wins and how confidently the wider team positions its solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the full sales cycle by providing technical expertise, from initial client discussions through to proposal submission and post-bid clarifications.
- Carry out focused desk research to track market trends, identify emerging customer pain points, and spot opportunities where the company’s electronic security portfolio could add value.
- Develop tailored technical and commercial responses, including solution designs, cost breakdowns, and written narratives that clearly address client requirements.
- Own the presales bid process by coordinating responses to RFIs, RFPs, and formal tender requests, ensuring every submission is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
- Analyze complex tender documentation, extract functional and technical requirements, and produce structured, compliant answers that highlight the strengths of the proposed solution.
- Deliver live product demonstrations and proof-of-concept sessions, adapting the presentation to each client’s specific environment, workflow, and security concerns.
- Build and maintain a central library of reusable assets, such as proposal templates, standard architecture diagrams, product FAQs, and case-study summaries.
- Keep internal teams and external partners informed about product capabilities, new releases, and competitor positioning through training sessions and clear technical documentation.
- Track all presales activities, including bid status, proposal versions, and client feedback, so that nothing falls through the cracks during busy bidding periods.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least two years of relevant working experience, ideally in presales, technical sales, or an engineering support role within electronic security, ICT, or a related technology field.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
- Solid understanding of the end-to-end tender lifecycle, including how to interpret evaluation criteria and align proposal content accordingly.
- Proven ability to work with technical specifications, read complex documents closely, and produce structured proposals that are both technically sound and commercially realistic.
- Experience writing technical proposals, preparing commercial quotations, building presentations, or developing solution documentation is highly desirable.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office, particularly Word for long-form documents, Excel for cost models, and PowerPoint for client-facing presentations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the confidence to present technical ideas to non-technical audiences and senior stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple bids with competing deadlines without losing attention to detail.
- A commercially curious mindset, with the ability to understand how technical choices affect cost, risk, and long-term value for the client.
