Role Overview
This role is the backbone of day-to-day operational flow, providing structured administrative support that keeps processes moving without friction. Working within clearly defined standard operating procedures, you will handle routine operational tasks, step in to support customers and colleagues when needed, and ensure every activity meets internal compliance and quality standards. Your consistency matters because it directly affects how smoothly the wider team performs and how reliably the business delivers on its commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute routine operational administrative tasks accurately, always following the approved standard operating procedures.
- Process customer requests and queries, escalating anything outside your remit to the appropriate person while keeping the customer informed.
- Step in with ad hoc support for team members during busy periods, absences, or unexpected workflow spikes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across operational systems, ensuring every transaction and update is traceable.
- Self-check your own outputs against compliance, risk, and quality requirements, and correct discrepancies as soon as they are spotted.
- Flag recurring process gaps or potential risks to your supervisor so procedures can be improved or reinforced.
- Manage your workload to meet defined turnaround times and contribute to the team’s overall performance targets.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Essential: Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce and Management Studies.
- Proven experience in an administrative or operations support role, ideally within a process-driven environment.
- Working knowledge of standard operating procedures, quality frameworks, and basic compliance principles.
- Comfortable using office software, especially spreadsheets, email, and internal record-keeping tools.
- Strong organisational skills with a meticulous approach to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and teammates.
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks and remain composed under routine pressure.
- A proactive mindset – able to identify what needs doing and step in without always being asked.
