Role Overview
As a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative based in Mombasa, you will be the face of Laboratory & Allied Ltd. across a defined territory, connecting clinicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare decision-makers with products that support patient care. Day to day, you will plan and execute sales visits, track account activity through CRM tools, and turn market intelligence into actionable territory strategies. Your ability to build trust with healthcare professionals directly influences product adoption and revenue growth, making your role a vital link between the company’s portfolio and the region’s medical community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct regular in-person visits to hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and private practices within the Mombasa territory to present product portfolios and clinical value propositions.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with physicians, pharmacists, and procurement contacts, using consultative selling to understand their needs and respond with appropriate product recommendations.
- Stay current on therapeutic areas, competitor activity, and market dynamics, and relay field insights to internal teams to inform promotional strategy.
- Maintain accurate records of calls, samples, and customer interactions in the company’s CRM system, ensuring data is updated promptly after each engagement.
- Organize and deliver product presentations, in-service training sessions, and educational materials to healthcare audiences as needed.
- Monitor sales performance against territory targets and adjust call cycles and account prioritization to maximize results.
- Coordinate with distributors and logistics partners to ensure product availability and address any supply-related concerns raised by customers.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Pharmacy, Biology, Biochemistry, Nursing, or another science-related discipline from a recognized institution.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical or medical device sales, with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Well-honed communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage healthcare professionals at all levels.
- Working proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM platforms and digital communication tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region, including routine overnight trips to reach customers across the territory.
- Valid driving license and ability to work independently in a field-based role with minimal direct supervision.
- Exceptional candidates with limited or no sales experience but strong academic credentials, high motivation, and a clear aptitude for relationship-building are welcome to apply.
