Job Description

Role Overview

This position focuses on maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring stock integrity within the warehouse. Day to day, you will perform cycle counts, audit stock locations, and investigate discrepancies to keep inventory levels reliable. Your work directly supports efficient warehouse operations by minimising stock errors and upholding quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily cycle counts and record all stock movements accurately in the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Perform regular audits of stock locations, empty bins, and FIFO/FEFO compliance to identify and correct deviations.
  • Investigate inventory variances within 24 hours of discovery and escalate unresolved issues to the inventory supervisor.
  • Update the WMS promptly for all inbound and outbound transactions to maintain real-time accuracy.
  • Complete delegated tasks from the inventory supervisor or controller, including maintaining detailed counting records.
  • Enforce correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and complete at least thirty safety observations per month.
  • Report incidents and lead root cause analysis within 12 hours, ensuring safe stacking standards and clear emergency exits.
  • Attend toolbox talks and safety stand-downs, and manage tools and equipment to keep them in safe working condition.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma required; tertiary qualification in logistics or supply chain management is an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in supply chain, warehousing, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with WMS and proficiency in MS Office suite (especially Excel) preferred.
  • Core Competencies: Strong inventory management, analytical thinking, and organisational abilities.
  • Personal Attributes: Initiative, flexibility, attention to detail, a sense of urgency, team orientation, and results drive.
  • Additional industry-related training or certifications are a plus.
