Role Overview

As the inbound side of our warehouse team, you will be the first line of defence for material accuracy and stock integrity. Day to day, you will direct the flow of incoming deliveries—checking them against purchase orders, posting receipts into the ERP system, and organising stock so production never stops. Your careful work protects the company from stock loss, keeps suppliers accountable for quality, and ensures every pallet and spare part can be found and traced in minutes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all inbound warehouse activity, from unloading and verifying deliveries to placing materials into correct storage locations and issuing them to internal teams.
• Record every inventory movement in SAP in real time, including goods receipts, transfers, issues and adjustments, so the system mirrors physical stock at all times.
• Check delivered quantities and product condition against purchase orders, flagging discrepancies and escalating them to procurement and suppliers without delay.
• Raise rejection notes for damaged, expired or otherwise non-conforming goods, then track the process through to replacement delivery or credit note.
• Run and review daily warehouse movement reports, monitoring for missing postings, overdue steps in the inbound process and unusual stock changes.
• Keep the warehouse tidy and well-organised according to 5S standards, with clear labelling, sensible bin locations and strict adherence to FIFO rotation.
• Plan and execute cycle counts and full stock takes, compare physical counts against SAP records, investigate every variance and correct the root cause.
• Work with materials planning and finance to maintain optimum inventory levels—enough to cover production demand, but without tying up excess cash in slow-moving stock.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in a business-related discipline, such as supply chain, logistics, commerce or operations management.
• At least two years of hands-on experience in inventory or warehouse management, ideally inside an FMCG or manufacturing environment with high-volume SKU counts.
• Working knowledge of SAP or another recognised ERP inventory module—particularly goods receipt, stock transfer, and cycle counting transactions.
• Strong spreadsheet skills and the ability to interpret inventory reports, spot trends, and present findings clearly to supervisors and other departments.
• Proven understanding of FIFO principles, warehouse layout and control standards, and how poor stock discipline leads to write-offs, delays or audit findings.
• A methodical, detail-oriented approach, with the discipline to follow procedures exactly even under delivery pressure.
• Comfortable collaborating with production planners, quality inspectors, procurement officers and external transport providers to resolve issues quickly.
• Progress toward a professional qualification such as CIPS is a plus, but solid practical experience outweighs certification.
