Role Overview
This role is centered on building a steady, reliable flow of qualified candidates for positions that are either hard to fill, highly specialized, or repeatedly open. You will spend your time researching talent markets, mapping out where the best people are, and initiating contact with both active applicants and professionals who are not currently job hunting. Your work ensures that recruiters and hiring managers are never starting from zero when a role opens, and that the company has a ready bench of vetted talent for evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain structured talent pools for recurring, niche, and hard-to-source roles, keeping them current and organized.
- Develop proactive sourcing campaigns that generate a consistent stream of qualified candidates before positions even open.
- Use LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, social media, industry communities, and internal referrals to uncover both active applicants and passive talent.
- Apply advanced Boolean search strings and other sourcing methodologies to identify candidates who are not easily found through standard searches.
- Conduct market research and talent mapping to understand where target skills are concentrated, who the major employers are, and how to approach those professionals effectively.
- Perform initial screening conversations to evaluate experience, qualifications, and basic fit before passing candidates to recruiters.
- Track and report on pipeline health, sourcing activity, response rates, and candidate availability, sharing regular updates with hiring teams.
- Cultivate relationships with promising candidates over time, so they remain engaged and receptive when the right opportunity appears.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in recruitment sourcing, talent acquisition, or a directly related role.
- Proven ability to build talent pipelines from scratch, not just fill immediate job openings.
- Hands-on experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, an applicant tracking system, and other sourcing tools.
- Strong command of Boolean search logic and creative approaches to finding candidates through multiple channels.
- Demonstrated success in reaching out to passive candidates and nurturing them through ongoing communication.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and represent the company professionally.
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives at once without losing track of deadlines.
- Comfort working independently in a fast-paced environment, with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Preferred but not required: experience in high-volume recruitment, familiarity with niche or specialized technical roles, knowledge of talent mapping frameworks, and comfort using recruitment metrics to measure and improve sourcing effectiveness.
