Pharmaceutical Technologist

Role Overview

As a pharmacy professional, you will be the trusted link between prescribed treatments and the patients who depend on them. Your day-to-day work involves accurately preparing and dispensing medications, monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages or expiry, and ensuring every customer interaction is handled with care and professionalism. Beyond the counter, you will support branch sales objectives and uphold strict compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, making your role essential to both patient safety and the pharmacy’s operational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret prescriptions and medication orders, preparing accurate labels, calculating required quantities, and assembling both standard and intravenous therapies as needed.
• Maintain optimal inventory by regularly reviewing pharmaceutical stock, forecasting upcoming needs, placing and tracking orders, verifying deliveries, and removing expired or soon-to-expire products while preparing aging reports.
• Dispense prescribed drugs directly to patients, offering clear guidance on proper usage, dosage, and potential side effects while answering any concerns they may have.
• Record all prescriptions and medication orders systematically, ensuring accurate documentation for regulatory and operational purposes.
• Process sales by calculating charges, issuing receipts, and recording revenue to support accurate financial reporting and branch profitability.
• Work alongside the branch team to execute marketing activities, drive customer engagement, and meet or exceed individual and collective sales targets.
• Uphold a clean, safe, and infection-controlled environment by following company standard operating procedures, government regulations, and the Dangerous Drug Act at all times.
• Proactively monitor daily operations, identify any anomalies, breakages, or compliance gaps, and report them promptly to supervisors while completing required reports on schedule.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
• Current Pharmacy and Poisons Board certification with a valid practicing license.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a healthcare or clinical pharmacy setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
• Demonstrated honesty and integrity, with a commitment to ethical pharmaceutical practices and patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing daily priorities.
