Description:
Whatnot is seeking a People Operations Associate to help build and improve employee experiences as the company continues to grow. This role focuses on onboarding operations, employee lifecycle support, and developing scalable processes that enable smooth and efficient People Operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with Recruiting, IT, Finance, Legal, Total Rewards, and People Business Partners to deliver a seamless employee experience. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys improving workflows, solving operational challenges, managing HR systems, and creating efficient processes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage employee onboarding operations from offer acceptance through the first day, including onboarding communications, Workday transactions, I-9 compliance, and coordination with internal teams.
• Support onboarding experiences at the San Francisco hub by partnering with Talent Programs and cross-functional teams.
• Handle employee lifecycle processes, including job changes, promotions, compensation updates, departures, and other HR transactions.
• Maintain accurate employee data and ensure Workday records remain complete, compliant, and audit-ready.
• Identify opportunities to improve People Operations workflows, self-service resources, and operational processes.
• Support employee inquiries through the People Operations helpdesk and improve documentation based on recurring requests.
• Assist with People Operations projects related to systems, reporting, compliance, and employee experience.
• Utilize reporting and analytics tools to identify trends, improve processes, and support operational decisions.
• Provide support to the broader People Operations team by documenting processes and sharing knowledge.
Requirements:
• 3–5+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or a related role, preferably in a fast-growing organization.
• Strong experience using Workday for transactions, reporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining data accuracy.
• Experience supporting employee onboarding and lifecycle processes.
• Ability to improve systems, workflows, and operational processes.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Clear and effective communication skills across multiple teams.
• Proactive mindset with strong ownership and follow-through.
• Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Zendesk, Culture Amp, Navan, and Slab or Notion.
• Strong knowledge of:
• HR operations, employee lifecycle management, and onboarding processes.
• Workday systems, HR reporting, and data management.
• Process improvement, compliance, and employee experience operations
