Role Overview
The Painter / Product Trainer serves as the hands-on technical champion for INS Africa Coatings, turning product knowledge into practical skill among painters, contractors, applicators, dealers, and counter staff. Day to day, this means running training sessions and live demonstrations, visiting job sites and dealer outlets, and troubleshooting application issues so that products are used correctly and perform as intended. By building confidence and preference among key influencers, the role directly supports product adoption, application quality, and secondary sales growth, with success measured by training reach, product conversions, and demand-generation leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Run regular painter training programs and hands-on product demonstrations at dealer outlets, active job sites, and other approved venues, covering surface preparation, application methods, tools, coverage, and finishing techniques.
- Train painters, contractors, applicators, dealers, and counter staff on the INS Africa Coatings range, with focused attention on new, premium, and difficult-to-apply products.
- Show users how to correctly operate conventional and automated painting tools and equipment.
- Conduct application trials and mock-ups at project sites to drive product conversion and create demand.
- Partner with Sales Representatives and ASMs on market visits to promote products, support dealer visits, painter meets, product launches, and exhibitions.
- Identify product and application knowledge gaps in the market, and guide dealers and counter staff on products that are understocked, under-promoted, or undersold to increase product movement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with painters, contractors, applicators, dealers, and other influencers; identify new contacts, training opportunities, and project leads for the sales team to follow up.
- Organize small painter/contractor meetings and awareness sessions, troubleshoot on-site application issues, escalate technical complaints to the relevant department, and maintain accurate training records, attendance logs, and activity reports.
