Operator - Roll Forming

Operations & Process Control

• Set up, operate and monitor the roll forming or slitting line in accordance with job orders and production specifications, SOPs and approved operating parameters.
• Operate the uncoiler, forming or slitting units, stacking or rewinding units, and related equipment.
• Handle, identify, label, weigh, band, arrange and transfer materials and finished products using approved methods.
• Maintain coil traceability, monitor material usage, execute job orders in the correct sequence, and accurately account for production, downtime and scrap.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections, cleaning, lubrication and approved operator-level adjustments; report abnormalities and support authorised maintenance activities.
• Complete production records and shift handover communication.
• Participate in 6S, autonomous maintenance, waste reduction, peer knowledge sharing, onboarding support and approved company initiatives

Quality Management

• Ensure products meet customer specifications and established quality standards.
• Maintain product traceability and support quality improvement initiatives.
• Check incoming materials, monitor the production process and verify finished products against specified quality requirements, including profile, cover width, dimensions and appearance.
• Identify, segregate, label, record and report defective or non-conforming material to Quality personnel.
• Stop or hold production where results fall outside approved limits, maintain product traceability, and support corrective action within the operator’s authority

Equipment Care & Housekeeping

• Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) requirements, policies and procedures.
• Adhere to LOTOTO, Permit-to-Work and safe work practices.
• Identify, report and address unsafe conditions and near misses.
• Participate in safety inspections, toolbox talks and emergency response activities.
• Maintain housekeeping standards through implementation of 6S

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• KCSE.
• Government Grade Test II or Craft Certificate in a relevant Engineering discipline. ,
• Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in machine operations within a manufacturing environment. ,
• Experience in Roll Forming operations or a similar production environment will be an added advantage. ,
• Knowledge of 6S and Autonomous Maintenance will be an added advantage. ,

Competencies

• Knowledge of cold rolling processes and mill operations.
• Ability to identify and report operational abnormalities.
• Understanding of product quality requirements and process standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong safety awareness and operational discipline. ,

Computer Literacy

• Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel).
