Electrician

Role Overview

In this artisan role, you will carry out specialist building-services work and help keep facilities and equipment safe, functional and reliable. You will oversee maintenance and repair activities, identify faults in building systems, and arrange the materials and checks needed to complete work effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform technical work within your area of trade specialization.
• Supervise repair and maintenance tasks involving buildings, machinery, tools and equipment.
• Ensure machines, tools and equipment are cleaned and maintained appropriately.
• Conduct routine checks to identify repair and maintenance needs.
• Coordinate inspections of completed and ongoing works.
• Organize troubleshooting of building systems and follow up on identified faults.
• Prepare maintenance cost estimates and submit requests for required materials.
• Install, operate and maintain building equipment, test its operation, and interpret technical drawings.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Nine years of relevant cumulative work experience, including at least three years at Artisan I grade.
• Trade Test Grade I certificate from an accredited examining body.
• Demonstrated merit and ability, as evidenced by work performance and results.
