We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one. Together, Amazonians research and develop new technologies from Amazon Web Services to Alexa on behalf of our customers: shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers around the world. Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind. You'll also hear us say that at Amazon, it's always "Day 1." What do we mean? That our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon's very first day - to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and focus on delighting our customers. View more View less

Job Description

Role Overview

This position drives daily route performance and operational excellence at a last-mile delivery station, ensuring that every package leaves the building efficiently and safely. The role blends hands-on coaching with data analysis—analysing performance metrics, training teams, and adjusting processes in real time to maximise productivity. Beyond the day-to-day, the person in this role leads continuous improvement projects that reshape how the transportation network functions, directly impacting customer delivery speed and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the operational strategy, setting clear performance targets for route teams and using periodic data reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with in-station management to establish and maintain quality control standards across all under-roof handling processes.
  • Proactively identify areas for operational improvement and lead initiatives using Lean methodologies and process-analysis tools.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally—working with dispatch, sortation, and support teams—to ensure tasks are on track and aligned with program milestones.
  • Align communications across multiple departments so that daily goals support the broader program objectives, reducing silos and friction.
  • Conduct strategic planning and forecasting to evaluate performance trends, identify bottlenecks, and develop resolution plans.
  • Manage several complex, simultaneous projects from initiation through execution, including data gathering, supply chain modelling, and recommendation reporting.
  • Implement improvements to the transportation network that increase flexibility, reduce costs, and improve on-time delivery for customers.
  • Enforce all safety, security, and loss prevention procedures; ensure teams follow protocols without exception.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years directly managing employees and performance in a fast-paced operations or logistics environment.
  • Schedule flexibility: Willingness to work weekends, nights, and holidays as the business demands.
  • Language: Fluent English—speaking, writing, and reading at a professional level.
  • Overall tenure: 7+ years of progressive professional experience in operations, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Preferred — Metrics & Process Improvement: 1+ years applying performance metrics, Lean techniques, or other continuous improvement methodologies in an operational setting.
