Job Description

Role Overview

As the Operating Effectiveness Manager, you will lead a group of consultants who specialise in examining operational processes, running structured assessments, and identifying improvement opportunities across multiple business functions. Your day-to-day work centres on guiding the team through complex reviews, engaging senior stakeholders to understand their priorities, and converting data-driven insights into practical transformation plans that deliver measurable results.

This role sits within a global department that brings together ISO 9001 quality standards, knowledge-sharing practices, and process engineering expertise. You will be expected to balance hands-on involvement in projects with the development of your team, ensuring that process improvements are not only designed well but also embedded successfully across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor Lean Six Sigma consultants on project execution, helping them manage timelines, scope, and deliverables effectively while building their confidence in process improvement methods.
  • Build the team’s capability in Lean Six Sigma techniques, providing training and practical guidance to raise the standard of analytical work and problem-solving across the unit.
  • Review process maps and current workflows to identify structural weaknesses, inefficiencies, or gaps that may be hindering performance, then recommend targeted corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior leaders across different business areas, understanding their strategic goals and aligning improvement initiatives to support those objectives.
  • Use data analysis to generate clear, executive-level insights from operational systems and teams, ensuring that recommendations are grounded in evidence rather than assumptions.
  • Design long-term transformation roadmaps for various operational areas, presenting proposals that clearly outline expected efficiency gains and improved business outcomes.
  • Coordinate the implementation of process changes by working with multiple stakeholders to test solutions, gather feedback, and ensure smooth rollout across affected teams.
  • Partner with enablement functions such as Automation, Quality Assurance, Planning, NPS, Data & Analytics, Knowledge Xchange, and Learning & Development to support delivery, measure post-implementation impact, and sustain improvements over time.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of professional experience in a transformation, process improvement, or operational effectiveness role, ideally within a large, complex business environment comparable to a global health services company.
  • Proven track record of supporting business projects, leading improvement initiatives, or acting as a subject matter expert on operational change.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate findings and recommendations to senior audiences and facilitate productive discussions.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence colleagues across functions, geographies, and levels of seniority.
  • Comfortable operating in evolving and ambiguous environments, managing competing priorities, and seeing tasks through to completion without losing attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of business processes, organisational structures, and operational best practices, with the ability to apply them in diverse settings.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps approaches to project delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or an equivalent process improvement methodology is required.
  • Hands-on proficiency with process mapping and flowcharting tools such as Microsoft Visio.
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel for building presentations, modelling data, and tracking project progress.
  • Understanding of business process design and improvement techniques, including how to assess process maturity and identify re-engineering opportunities.
  • Exposure to process automation, formal project management, or change management practices is highly desirable.
  • Nice to have: a master’s degree in business management, or experience with ISO certification and auditing processes.

What We Offer / Why Join

  • A competitive salary package that recognises your experience and the impact of your work.
  • A multicultural, hybrid working environment where collaboration and diverse perspectives are valued.
  • Private medical insurance and access to employee wellbeing benefits that support your health and work-life balance.
  • Access to an educational development programme to help you continue growing professionally and stay current with industry practices.
