Role Overview
As Product Manager, you will turn customer and advisory-team insight into clear priorities for both internal products and solutions developed for customers. You’ll work alongside engineers from discovery through delivery, making trade-offs, shaping prototypes, and sometimes taking on a customer’s Product Owner responsibilities. Your work will help teams focus on the problems that matter and deliver solutions customers can use.
Key Responsibilities
- Connect customers, the advisory team, and engineering, ensuring needs and constraints are understood across all three groups.
- Set and manage roadmaps for internal products and customer engagements, balancing longer-term opportunities with delivery needs.
- For customers without a Product Owner, maintain the backlog, set priorities, and make day-to-day product decisions.
- Translate business and technical needs into actionable epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Create Figma flows, clickable prototypes, or proof-of-concepts to explore and communicate product ideas before production development.
- Work with engineers throughout delivery, resolve blockers, and make timely decisions when scope, effort, and customer priorities compete.
- Take part in customer discussions to investigate underlying needs, test assumptions, and assess whether proposed solutions address real problems.
- Use AI tools to support research, analysis, specification writing, and prototyping, while applying sound judgment to the results and sharing effective practices with colleagues.
- Bring feedback from customer work into decisions about engineering priorities and the evolution of internal products.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least five years of product management experience, preferably in enterprise B2B software or technically complex, customer-facing delivery.
- Experience managing a product backlog, refining work, writing acceptance criteria, and making decisions in a Product Owner capacity.
- Practical skill with Figma or a comparable design tool, including the ability to produce clear mockups or clickable prototypes independently.
- Technical fluency sufficient to interpret architecture diagrams, discuss APIs and integrations, and understand engineering constraints; production coding experience is not required.
- Confidence using data and experiments to guide prioritisation, test assumptions, and evaluate results.
- Regular, practical use of AI tools to improve product work, with examples of applying them to move from investigation to delivery more effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to build trust with engineers, customer stakeholders, advisory teams, and senior decision-makers.
- Sound judgment and a high degree of ownership when moving between internal product work and active customer engagements.
- Experience in AI/ML, mobile, SaaS, web applications, distributed systems, consulting, solutions engineering, forward-deployed roles, or technical pre-sales is useful.
- Experience in financial services, payments, or FinTech is an advantage, as is familiarity with the sector’s security and regulatory considerations.
- Product Owner certification, Scrum or Agile delivery experience, or use of AI coding tools to create working prototypes or specifications is also beneficial.
What Success Looks Like
- Within the first 90 days, understand the customer base and the advisory and engineering workflows, and make an informed roadmap decision grounded in customer insight.
- By six months, be a trusted partner to customers, advisory colleagues, and engineers, with priorities that are understood and supported across those groups.
- By the end of the first year, contribute to measurable customer outcomes and establish repeatable ways of using AI to accelerate product work.
