Role Overview
This position works closely with the MERL Coordinator to keep every program and partnership accountable through strong monitoring, evaluation, reporting, learning, and adapting practices. Day to day, you will design and maintain data systems, validate the quality of information flowing in from internal teams and partners, and turn raw numbers into clear reports that guide decisions. Your work matters because it gives leadership, donors, and implementing partners the evidence they need to adjust strategies, prove impact, and improve how anti-corruption work is delivered across Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and strengthen MERLA frameworks, tools, and indicator trackers aligned with TI-Kenya’s strategic plan and project-specific log frames.
- Support the accurate and timely collection, cleaning, and analysis of performance data from TI-Kenya and sub-awardee partners, flagging data quality issues as they arise.
- Prepare periodic narrative and quantitative reports for internal management, donors, and external stakeholders, ensuring figures are consistent and well-evidenced.
- Facilitate learning sessions, after-action reviews, and adaptation workshops so that lessons from monitoring data are actually applied to programme design and implementation.
- Contribute to institutional planning and research activities, including baseline and endline surveys, evaluations, and organisational performance reviews.
- Maintain an organised repository of MERLA documents, data sets, and supporting evidence to ensure audit readiness and institutional memory.
- Build the capacity of programme staff and partner organisations on M&E best practices, indicator definitions, and reporting protocols.
- Assist in developing terms of reference for external evaluations and participate in the oversight of consultants or research partners as required.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Quality Assurance, Management, or a related social science discipline.
- A recognised certification in M&E, project management, or a closely related field is an added advantage.
- At least three years of hands-on experience in programme monitoring and evaluation, research, or quality assurance within a development or civil society setting.
- Proven ability to design data collection instruments, manage datasets, perform both quantitative and qualitative analysis, and present strategic information to decision-makers.
- Strong report-writing and presentation skills, with a track record of delivering clear, concise updates and reviews to project stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of common M&E software (such as SPSS, STATA, Power BI, or equivalent) and digital data collection tools.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across different projects simultaneously.
