Role Overview
You will join a small development team responsible for building and maintaining business-critical Windows and web applications that keep internal operations running smoothly. Your day-to-day focus is writing clean C# code, fixing defects at the third-line support level, and turning business requirements into practical software improvements. The work matters because these applications directly support daily workflows, and your contributions help reduce downtime and improve user satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and maintain application code in C#, translating business needs into reliable, well-structured software features.
- Document all application changes, including setup procedures, update logs, and configuration records, so the team can easily track what changed and why.
- Follow agile development practices and the organisation's system development lifecycle when planning, building, testing, and releasing new functionality.
- Provide third-level support for existing applications, diagnosing root causes and resolving issues that cannot be handled by lower support tiers.
- Check completed code into source control and deploy releases to test and production environments, then evaluate user feedback to guide subsequent fixes.
- Design and refine user interfaces for both legacy and new applications, using front-end technologies to make workflows more intuitive and accessible.
- Participate in requirements review sessions, asking clarifying questions and helping stakeholders think through feasibility before development starts.
- Coordinate with external developers during system integrations, ensuring interfaces work correctly and data flows securely between platforms.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least two years of hands-on system development experience, supported by a degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and how to apply them to real-world application design.
- Working knowledge of C# and familiarity with common development frameworks and application architecture patterns.
- Strong grasp of relational databases, including SQL Server and Oracle, with the ability to write queries and understand stored procedures.
- Practical experience with user interface frameworks such as CSS, Node.js, JavaScript, AngularJS, or Xamarin.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals as they apply to distributed or client-server applications.
- Prior exposure to agile methodologies, particularly Scrum or Kanban, is an advantage.
What We Offer / Why Join
This role provides an opportunity to work on a diverse mix of maintenance, enhancement, and new development tasks across a mature application portfolio. You will gain exposure to both backend logic and front-end user experience, with the freedom to drive continuous improvements and take ownership of solutions from concept to deployment.
