Job Description

Role Overview

This role leads all allied health services across our outreach network—covering Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Dental, and Optical—by combining strategic direction with hands-on operational management. Day to day, you will ensure clinics run smoothly, resources are well used, and patient care stays safe, efficient, and patient-centred. Your work directly supports our organisation’s broader goals by improving service performance, maintaining regulatory standards, and driving continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape and execute the long-term vision for allied health and outpatient services, translating strategy into actionable plans and measurable results.
  • Direct daily clinic operations to meet key performance targets, streamline patient workflows, and make the best use of staff, equipment, and facilities.
  • Champion patient safety and quality care through systematic audits, incident reviews, and initiatives that boost satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
  • Ensure every service complies with healthcare regulations, accreditation body requirements, internal policies, and current clinical best practices.
  • Work closely with clinical leads, operational teams, and support staff to redesign processes, remove bottlenecks, and improve the overall patient journey.
  • Oversee Health Information Management Services—including accurate medical coding and central filing—to guarantee data integrity and regulatory adherence.
  • Partner with procurement and logistics teams to monitor inventory levels of clinical supplies and equipment, avoiding shortages while controlling costs.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams, using performance reviews, coaching, and professional development to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Analyse service metrics and patient data to spot trends, identify areas for improvement, and provide evidence-based recommendations to leadership.
  • Support budget planning, track expenditure, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising care quality or safety.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant allied health field (e.g., Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Radiology) or a business-related discipline accompanied by substantial experience in allied health services.
  • A Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • At least eight years of progressive healthcare management experience, with a minimum of three years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-disciplinary teams and services.
