Minimum Requirements (Likely)

Applicants should:

• Hold relevant academic qualifications (Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Master’s depending on the role).

• Possess valid professional licenses and registration with relevant Kenyan regulatory bodies.

• Have prior experience in clinical practice, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, radiography, dental care, or medical engineering depending on the position.

• Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and patient‑care skills.

• Be familiar with county healthcare frameworks, medical compliance standards, and resilience strategies in climate‑affected regions.

• Show professionalism, integrity, and alignment with Mandera County’s mission of advancing healthcare despite climate challenges.

Role‑specific expectations:

• Medical Specialists (Surgeon, Pediatrician, OB/GYN): Deliver specialized clinical care, surgery, and maternal/child health services.

• Medical Laboratory Technologists: Conduct diagnostic tests, manage lab operations, and ensure quality standards.

• Pharmaceutical Technologists: Dispense medication, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations.

• Radiographers: Operate imaging equipment, support diagnostics, and maintain patient safety.

• Community Oral Health Officers & Dental Technologists: Provide oral healthcare, preventive services, and dental procedures.

• Medical & Dental Officers: Deliver general clinical services, patient care, and community health support.

• Principal Medical Engineering Technologist: Oversee medical equipment maintenance, innovation, and technical support.

How to Apply

NOTE:

• Member of the Audit Committee shall be appointed for a term of three years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further one term only.
• Remuneration: This is not a salaried position; Allowances applicable shall be determined by the salaries and remuneration commission.
• A person shall not be qualified for appointment as a Chair or a member of Audit Committee if the persons: -
  • Is present or past employee of the County Government of Mandera.
  • Have served as an employee or an agent of a business organization which has carried out business with County Government of Mandera for the last two years
