LPG Operations Supply Chain Coordinator

Role Overview

This role owns the supply chain that powers Sun King’s pay-as-you-go LPG business in Kenya. On a daily basis, you will coordinate bulk LPG procurement and transport, plan inventory across warehouses and depots, and track cylinders circulating with customers and riders. Your success directly enables safe, compliant expansion while safeguarding working capital and keeping service reliable as the business enters new markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Steer bulk LPG movement from vendor facilities to refilling points or storage sites, maintaining real-time visibility, clearing transport or capacity bottlenecks, and improving routing and freight costs.
• Confirm goods receipt via dual-weighing at refilling and storage locations, reconcile discrepancies against vendor dispatch records, and ensure continuous, safe physical LPG flow.
• Design and operate replenishment plans for cookstoves, cylinders, FMCDs, accessories, and LPG across the warehouse and depot network—setting safety stock levels, preventing stock-outs, and optimising pre-deployment working capital.
• Manage the complete lifecycle of deployed cylinders: track assets held by customers, riders, or in transit; reduce idle, unreturned, or uncollected units; schedule and monitor recertifications; and enforce loss/shrinkage governance including declarations, recovery, and write-off approvals.
• Ensure compliance with EPRA licensing, county, fire safety, and NEMA permits; uphold KEBS cylinder quality standards, weights and measures rules, and DOSH safety protocols; and lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Own vendor commercial relationships—credit terms, statement-of-account reconciliations, SLA performance, scorecards, pricing and volume negotiations, risk diversification, and onboarding new vendors as the business grows.
• Produce consolidated performance reporting on supply, inventory, vendor SLAs, and asset KPIs to support data-driven operational and commercial decisions.
• Partner with Sales on demand forecasting and coordinate across depots, transporters, and refill centres to align supply with customer demand.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, Finance, IT, or a comparable discipline.
• Background in LPG, downstream oil and gas, or FMCG distribution.
• Robust project management skills, including a track record of delivering process improvements.
• Capable of juggling competing demands and delivering in a fast-moving, dynamic setting with little oversight.
• Strong communicator and relationship-builder, skilled at engaging stakeholders across teams and external partners.
• Proven experience coordinating cross-border teams.
• Solid financial acumen and data interpretation skills, using insights to guide operational and commercial evaluations.
• Familiarity with energy regulators, ideally in the LPG or energy sector.
