Job Description
Responsibilities
- Dispense medications and monitor patient health outcomes and progress to maximize treatment outcomes.
- Provide accurate drug information on the use of medication and their side effects in response to patient enquiries as well as user departments.
- Receive and accurately process prescriptions to both inpatients and outpatients.
- Prepare, constitute and label extemporaneous preparations as required
- Maintain pharmacy operational requirements-records of controlled drugs as well as proper inventory control
- Participate in stock takes and inventory management exercises
- Participate in ward rounds and patient education activities
- Counsel patients on medication use and adherence
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution.
- Must be enrolled/registered as a pharmaceutical technologist by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Valid practicing licence from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
- Proficiency in Ms Office tools (Word, excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
