Role Overview
This contract role places you in Malindi as a life insurance agent focused on building long-term client relationships through face-to-face engagement. You will spend your days identifying potential policyholders, understanding their financial situations, and presenting life insurance options that genuinely fit their needs. Your work matters because it helps families secure financial protection while directly contributing to the agency's growth and sales performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and generate new leads through referrals, networking, and community outreach within the Malindi area.
- Conduct client consultations to assess coverage needs, financial goals, and budget constraints before recommending suitable life insurance products.
- Prepare accurate quotations and policy illustrations, clearly explaining coverage terms, premium structures, and exclusions.
- Guide applicants through the policy application process, collecting required documentation and ensuring forms are completed correctly.
- Coordinate with underwriting and servicing teams to track policy issuance and resolve any documentation or approval issues promptly.
- Provide ongoing support to existing policyholders, handling inquiries related to premium payments, policy changes, and claims assistance.
- Maintain organized records of client interactions, sales activities, and follow-up tasks using the agency's reporting systems.
- Meet monthly sales targets while ensuring all activities comply with insurance regulations and company compliance standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience in insurance sales or brokerage, with a strong ability to prospect, negotiate, and close life insurance deals.
- Solid knowledge of life insurance products, including policy features, underwriting basics, and claims processes.
- Practical understanding of personal finance fundamentals to help clients integrate insurance into broader financial planning and budgeting.
- Excellent customer service skills, including clear verbal communication, active listening, and relationship building.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a target-driven environment while managing time and priorities effectively in an on-site setting.
- A diploma or degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant professional certifications in insurance or financial services are advantageous.
- Familiarity with the Kenyan insurance market, including regulatory requirements and local client expectations, is strongly preferred.
