Job Description
Role Overview
Teach and assess students in your academic discipline, contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate learning. The role also supports student research, course development, academic research, and engagement with professional and community partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in your area of expertise.
- Assess student work and provide academic guidance on learning and progress.
- Supervise undergraduate projects and other practical or experiential learning activities.
- Guide postgraduate students undertaking dissertations or theses.
- Contribute to the design and improvement of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Develop, promote, and participate in research projects relevant to your discipline.
- Provide professional and community services, build external partnerships, and support fundraising initiatives.
- Undertake administrative and other duties assigned to the position.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Doctoral route: An earned doctorate, or equivalent qualification, from a recognized academic institution.
- Master’s route: A master’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited, recognized university; this route is specified for Health and ICT disciplines.
- For the master’s route, at least three years of teaching experience at university level, or relevant experience in research or industry.
- Registration with the relevant professional body, or eligibility to register, where applicable.
- Applicants applying through the master’s route must have at least one publication. Publications are an added advantage for doctoral applicants.
