Lecturer - ECT – Mathematics Methods

Role Overview

This academic role combines teaching, student supervision, research and service within the appointee’s discipline. The successful candidate will contribute to courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, support the development of academic programmes, and help strengthen the institution’s research and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach courses in the relevant discipline at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Assess student work and provide academic guidance to support learning and progress.
• Supervise undergraduate projects and experiential learning activities.
• Guide graduate students completing dissertations or theses.
• Contribute to the design, review and development of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
• Develop, promote and participate in research projects, and contribute to scholarly outputs.
• Provide professional and community services, build relevant partnerships, and pursue fundraising opportunities.
• Undertake administrative tasks and other duties assigned in support of the academic unit.

Requirements & Qualifications

• For the doctoral-level route: an earned doctorate, or equivalent qualification, from a recognised academic institution.
• For the master’s-level route in Health or ICT: a master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited, recognised university, plus at least three years of teaching experience at university level or relevant experience in research or industry.
• Registration with the relevant professional body, or eligibility for registration, where applicable. Applicants taking the master’s-level route must be registered with the relevant professional body.
• Applicants taking the master’s-level route must have at least one publication. Publications are an added advantage for applicants with a doctorate.
