Lecturer - ECT – Geography/History Methods

Role Overview

Teach and assess students in your area of expertise across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, while supporting their academic development through project and thesis supervision. The role also contributes to course design, research, professional engagement and the administrative work needed to sustain the university’s academic programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver teaching in the relevant discipline at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Assess student learning and provide appropriate academic guidance.
• Supervise undergraduate projects and experiential learning activities.
• Guide postgraduate students through dissertation or thesis research.
• Contribute to the design and improvement of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
• Develop, promote and participate in research projects, and contribute to scholarly output.
• Provide professional and community service, build relevant external partnerships and support fundraising initiatives.
• Undertake administrative and other duties assigned in connection with the role.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Doctoral-level route: An earned doctorate, or equivalent qualification, from a recognised academic institution.
• Master’s-level route: A relevant master’s degree from an accredited, recognised university. This route applies to Health and ICT fields.
• For the master’s-level route, at least three years of teaching experience at university level, or relevant experience in research or industry.
• Registration with the relevant professional body, or eligibility to register, where applicable.
• Applicants on the master’s-level route must have at least one publication. Publications are an advantage for applicants with a doctorate.
